I guess you haven't seen Laine play any games this season. On pace for 30 goals, 80 points, while playing a solid, physical 2 way game. No more one trick pony but you have to actually see him play and not just watch highlights.

Definitely the weakest group so far in terms of defense.

He never said that he was a one-trick pony, he stated:

"Ultimately, I think his goal scoring is amazing, but when the goals dry up and the shooting percentage goes down there isn’t as much to his game as Aho and Rantanen."

And he's not wrong. The difference in goal scoring is less than the difference in overall contributions- especially in Aho's case. You don't have to be so defensive of your player.

Only the penguins could announce an injury/surgery when they havent played in over a month... Simon out 6-7 months after shoulder surgery.

Anyone read Yohe's take on the top ten prospects in the Pens' system?

A couple blogs old but yeah. Not much to quibble with there.

Poulin, Legare, and Joseph are the easy top 3 and in that order. Joseph is safer than Legare who could bust but could also score 30.

O'Conner, Hallander, and Bjorkvist are probably the next tier. All have good tools and size but questionable scoring upside especially Bjorkvist.

Some shine has come off Bellerieve since his post draft year explosion, but I still see him as a strong sleeper who improved during the year at WBS. Needs to take a big step, but I'd push him above Bjorkvist who I think will end up as just a 4th line energy player.

Puustinan had a monster year and probably has a higher ceiling than several of the guys ranked above him, there just wasn't a history plus he's small, but if he can build on that he'll climb the list.

After that, it's really whoever you like as nobody else really stands out. Dzorg and Miletic feel more loke tweeners at best to me. Miletic is probably next in line for a call up and he's solid all around but nothing about his game stands out.

Not sure if he's eligible for this list, but I'd have Angelo 9th and Reilly, the RHD who just turned pro 10th.

So the Pens would play the Habs first round of a 24 team playoffs?
